About Me
I am a Software Engineer and UX Designer passionate about understanding users and solving their problems. I have over five years of experience in the IT industry as a developer and a teacher. I am in the exit year of my Master's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction and Design.
Software Engineer
Musala Soft
At Musala, I had the chance to work on a project from its initial stage to its eventual release. The project was for the National Revenue Agency (NRA) of Bulgaria. They needed a new portal, where handling access to employees and accountants was easier. My team and I managed to deliver a state-of-the-art microservice solution, with a high level of security. The portal is still in use and all Bulgarians do their taxes in it.
Experience
Jan 2022 - Aug 2023
Senior Software Engineer
TechPods
Sofia - Bulgaria
At TechPods, I worked as a contractor for two different British companies in a row. There, I extended my knowledge by exploring topics like front-end development, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD. In the first company I worked for, my team was awarded as the best team, out of the tens of competitors present there.
Oct 2019 - Jan 2022
Sep 2020 - Jan 2021
Programming Teacher
Technological School "Electronic Systems" associated with Technical University - Sofia (Elsys)
Sofia, Bulgaria
I was given the great privilege to go back to my high school and give back to the amazing community there by working as a programming teacher for a year. There, I had to adapt the materials from past years to the new teaching schedule, that was getting implemented. The result of the course was that all of the students in the class had a solid understanding of pointers and dynamic memory and were prepared for their future challenges.
Jul 2018 - Sep 2019
Junior Software Engineer
Infosystems International
Sofia, Bulgaria
At Infosystems, I had the opportunity to work full-stack on multiple small projects, doing everything from design to implementation.
Education
2024 - Ongoing
Master's Degree in Human-Cmputer Interaction and Design
Aalto University
Exit university from the EIT Digital dual Master's program with a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneuership. In Aalto, I specialize in Cros-Device Interaction, further improving my design skills by exploring designs that work on multiple devices.
2023 - 2024
Master's Degree in Human-Cmputer Interaction and Design
Universidad Politécnica de Madrid
Entry university from the EIT Digital dual Master's program with a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneuership. At UPM I specialized in Accessibility, delving into topics such as accessibility standards and evaluation. There I also had the chance to familiarize myself with User-Centered design, Material, Usability, and Usability evaluation.
2018 - 2022
Bachelor’s in Informatics and Software Sciences
Technical University - Sofia
At TU-Sofia, I refined my Software Engineering skills. I had the chance to explore new programming languages, technologies, and topics.
2013 - 2018
Professional Highschool in System Programing
Technological School "Electronic Systems" associated with Technical University - Sofia (Elsys)
Elsys is the best possible entry into the IT industry. The school introduced me to topics such as front-end development, back-end development, relational databases, embedded programming, agile methodologies, electronics, and many more. It gave me a foundation I could later build upon in higher education and workplaces.
Design Work
Here are three design projects I would like to share:
Aalto Associations
A platform striving to be the single source of truth for associations at Aalto University. On the website, students can explore new clubs and participate in events. Association leaders, on the other hand, can manage those events and participants in this unified platform. My team and I conducted contextual inquiries, and interviews to understand the problems association leaders and users were facing with the current solutions and we designed the system following the Aalto University design guide to make our project feel like a natural extension of the university website.

Language Farm
A farming game that promotes language studies by intertwining exercises in the game elements. The project started with a simple idea and a few assumptions. My team and I conducted a contextual inquiry to understand how users learn languages and what they expect from a game with learning functionality. With the collected data, we developed two paper prototypes using Balsamiq. One was a phone prototype and the other a website. Those prototypes were presented to users and evaluated based on the objective and subjective data collected. Based on the conclusions from the low-fidelity testing, my team and I developed a high-fidelity prototype using Android Studio for Android devices. This prototype was again tested against new and old users to gain new insights.

FlatFit
An app that allows tenants to switch their apartments in Germany where finding a suitable home can be a challenge. The project was a learning framework where my team and I explored the Material Design guidelines and developed a high-fidelity Figma prototype with two branching flows.
